Emma-Kate - Otago grower

Emma-Kate lives with her husband, Saul, there daughters Anoushka and Frieda, cats Madeline and Francesca, and a few thousand honey bees. She enjoys beekeeping along side
growing seed in Ōtepoti Dunedin, she's passionate about seed saving, especially in an urban community.

Emma-Kate has a background in occupational therapy, an interest in how humans have evolved and developed this inextricable relationship with agriculture, land, and soil, and a fierce curiosity of natural sciences, especially physics/cosmology, since childhood. She enjoys connecting these interests together in a way that also connects people. As such is passionate about seedsaving as a meaningful purposeful occupation alongside community groups, as well as networking community seedsavers for annual activities such as the Ōtepoti tomato grow out, and the Ōtepoti Bean Scene grow outs that they run though a seed library that operates from there home.
